Holy Qur’an 2:40
يبَنى إِسرءيلَ اذكُروا نِعمَتِىَ الَّتى أَنعَمتُ عَلَيكُم وَأَوفوا بِعَهدى أوفِ بِعَهدِكُم وَإِيّىَ فَارهَبونِ
O Children of Israel! Call to mind the (special) favor which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill your covenant with Me as I fulfill My Covenant with you and fear none but Me.
Imam Nawawi, Hadith
On the authority of Abu Huraira Abdul Rahman ibn Sakhr who said: I heard the messenger of Allah say: What I have forbidden you avoid; what i have ordered you to do, do as much of it as you can. It was only their excessive questioning and their disagreeing with their Prophets that destroyed those who were before you.
